I stayed in Sicily off & on for 6 years. Mostly near Palermo. The Beati Paoli were formed in 17th century emulating The Vendi Cosi, a 12th century vigilante group formed to guard the local community against their foreign lords. This idea of Robin Hoodism was prevalent all over Europe for hundreds of years. Keep'emPeeled
